Graffunder, age 85, of Abbotsford, passed away at Dycora Transitional Living on Tuesday, April 9, 2019.A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Interment to follow at the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.Ruth was born on October 9, 1933, the daughter of Arvid and Margaret (Gore) Carlson. She graduated from Abbotsford High School and Taylor County Teachers College. Ruth was united in marriage to Eugene Graffunder on January 20, 1956. Together they farmed in the Town of Holton.Ruth was a strong woman with a strong faith. She worked hard on the farm and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.Ruth is survived by her husband of 63 years, Eugene of Abbotsford; three sons: Terry Graffunder of Abbotsford, Jody (Bobbi) Graffunder of Eau Claire and Gene (Kim) Graffunder of Sparta; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her three siblings: Herb (Glenda) Carlson, Edith (Leroy) Jeske and Mae (Jack) Nelson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Sharon Minett; her grandson, Andy Lindberg; her brother, David Carlson and her sister, Mary Ann Blakeman. .fb_iframe_widget_fluid_desktop iframe { width: 100% !important; } ...

Thorson (nee Bierce), age 89, of Abbotsford, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Marshfield Medical Center.A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Pastor Bruce Jahnke will officiate. Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.Berdene was born on June 29, 1929 in the Town of Holway, the daughter of Burton and Agnes Bierce. She attended Clark Grade School and graduated from Withee High School in 1946. Berdene united to marriage to Donald K. Thorson in September of 1947. They were later divorce. Berdene had worked various jobs including working for 20 years at Marathon Cheese in Medford until retirement.Berdene enjoyed polka dancing, playing cards and checkers, word search puzzles, puzzle books, as well as watching the Green Bay Packers and Wheel of Fortune. She especially cherished spending time with her 12 children and her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her children, family and friends.Berdene is survived by her 12 children: RoxAnne (Maynard) Purgett of Abbotsford, Jacqueline Suthard of Owen, Paula St. Claire of Wausau, Linda Brunner of Milwaukee, Bryon Thorson of Minnesota, Mark Thorson of Wausau, Rhonda (David) Thorson of Ohio, Brenda (Fazi) Behroyhan of Florida, Wayne (Jackolyn) Thorson of Marathon, Merry Beth (Phil) Moran of Illinois, William (Lena) Thorson of California, and Susan Thorson of Illinois; 27 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Bernie” Smith age 62 of Dorchester, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at her residence.A prayer service will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 5:30 pm at Saint Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. Father Tim Oudenhoven will officiate. Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 pm until the time of service on Thursday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester is assisting the family with arrangements.Bernadette was born on November 12, 1956 in Medford, WI the daughter of Norman and Delores (Scheuer) Smith. Bernie was paralyzed since she was nineteen years old. She enjoyed her cats; Sasha, Punky, Peppy and Smokey. She also loved being outside in the sun, playing computer games, board games and card games.
